STATEMENT
The project begins with a Drawing Machine, an experiment that records the unpredictable traces produced by frequency, water, and light. Rather than translating these traces directly into architectural form, the experiment became a way of thinking about resonance as an emotional and experiential condition.
Around Saemangeum, development and changes in the marine environment have disrupted the rhythms of fishing life that once connected people, work, and the sea. Munyeodo becomes a place to reconsider and reconstruct these fragmented relationships through everyday acts of fishing, working, eating, staying, moving, and gathering.
Through a fishing village stay, seafood market, community center, landing platform, seaweed farming bridge, and lighthouse, the project rebuilds a sequence of fishing life from the village to the sea. Here, resonance is not a physical phenomenon to reproduce, but an experience through which the memory, routines, and relationships of a fishing community can be felt again.
